Job Brief
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Construction Accounting
Associate to join our team. As the Construction Accounting Associate, you will be
primarily responsible for handling billing processes per contract terms with
efficiency and accuracy.
Responsibilities
1. Billing Associate tasks
Generate accurate and timely client invoices and sub-contractor estimates
based on contractual agreements.
Review billing documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with
client requirements.
Coordinate with project managers and clients to resolve billing issues or
discrepancies.
Work with project managers to accurately reconcile contract change orders.
Maintain organized billing and change order records and documentation for
audits and client inquiries.
Provide support in reconciling payment discrepancies.
Assist in month-end and year-end financial close processes.
2. Payroll
Responsible for new employee setup
Prepare monthly union remittance reporting
Update union payrates in Sage 100 Contractor system
3. Assist with accounts payable tasks as needed during high volume times
Requirements
Proven working experience in accounts receivable, preferably in the
construction industry.
Proficiency in calculating, posting, and managing accounting figures and
financial records.
Exceptional data entry skills and a keen eye for numbers.
Hands-on experience with spreadsheets (knowledge of vlookups and pivot
tables is a plus) and proprietary accounting software (experience with Sage
100 is a plus).
Proficiency in MS Office (knowledge of SharePoint is a plus).
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively within a team.
Proven ability to meet deadlines and strong problem-solving skills.
5 to 10 years of accounts receivable and/or general construction accounting
experience. Billing experience a plus.
